PROJECT LOCATION

Díli, East Timor

In 2011, the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs opened an International Competition for the Project of the new Portuguese Embassy in East-Timor. Its program included the Consulate facilities, a Cultural Centre and also the Ambassador Official Residence.

The available plot, located in one of the most privileged areas of Díli, occupies an urban block in the front line of the city, facing the Ocean and contiguous to the Government Palace's Square.

Aiming to take fully advantage of this envied location, our proposal interpreted the consolidated urban design, placing each one of the buildings strategically, in order to allow the free circulation in between these three autonomous programs, providing a new public space to Díli citizens.
