This three bedroom house was designed for a family of four that has decided to move from an apartment in an urban centre to a remote place in the surroundings of Oporto city. This premise was taken in consideration upon the definition of the functional program, which should comply to the family's urban living habits and at the same time adapt them to a new rural reality. An interesting plot, unusual in this rural area, with 25m wide and more than 200m length ending down in a quiet river, has defined the shape and the implementation of two crossed volumes next to the access path. Their livings spaces are clearly opened to the hills that can be seen further on the other side of the river, and the bedrooms are connected to the patio over the service areas placed in the lower volume.
